Matt Chernoff, half the Chuck & Chernoff afternoon team on 680/The Fan, announced yesterday on his Facebook page that he has signed for another three years with the station.

This comes off as no surprise at all since his show with Chuck Oliver, which airs from 3 to 7 p.m., is the top-rated sports talk show in town, easily beating rivals on 92.9/The Game and 790/The Zone.

The show is frequently in the top 5 among men 25 to 54.

The two hosts have been together at the Fan since November, 2008. (Details here.) Prior to that, they had different stints together at the Zone totaling about three years. So collectively, they have been on air for eight years.

Chernoff was let go from the Zone in December, 2007 after eight years and joined the Fan in September, 2008.

Oliver joined the station a few months later, opening the door for a reunion. He has a long-term contract with the Fan as well.

680/The Fan last week hired Stephen "Steak" Shapiro for its Front Row show from 9 a.m. to noon starting January 2, replacing Ray Mariner.

The station also hired Chris Dimino in September but he won't be able to go on air until March, presumably in the mornings.
