I saw two of the four "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" comics in the same week.

First up was Jeff Foxworthy, who was the keynote speaker at the 25th anniversary Buckhead Coalition luncheon at 103 West, where Mayor Kasim Reed feted former mayor Sam Massell, who has run the coalition for its entire quarter century.

Here's a bit of his talk, where he threw in some of his usual schtick and compared Buckhead's accomplishments with that of his more modest home of Hapeville. "I didn't have a silver spoon in my mouth," he noted. "I had a spork."

One joke: "The Buckhead Coalition raised $30,000 for the Atlanta History Center's Tully Smith farm building. The Hapeville Coalition raised $300 to purchase three new tires to replace the flats on city hall."

A few days later, Suwanee-based Ron White hosted three packed shows at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, where he told stories about his feisty musician wife Margo Rey, his love for weedhis aversion to rigorous exercise (at one point, complaining that he "sprained my fat roll") and getting way too drunk on Dr. Phil's yacht. He also regaled the crowd with about 30 jokes related to his most valuable private part.

And he's modest about his education. He never graduated high school, instead getting a GED. Then he asked the crowd if they even knew what the stood for. "If you don't know, you probably have one, too," he drawled.

His wife is a fan of yoga. He isn't. "I can't even stand on one leg - unless a cop is shining a light in my eye."

I also got to meet his son Marshall, who was visting from Austin, backstage. Marshall says he takes his dad's on-stage good-natured joking well, including his addiction to War of Warcraft, which he no longer partakes.
