On December 1, 2011, VH1 announced it was prepping a biopic about Atlanta trio TLC.

More than fourteen months later, the cast has finally been named, according to Deadline.com

- Actress Keke Palmer, 19, will play Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Chilli was last seen on TV on "Celebrity Cook-Off" in January with Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri.  Palmer, who is also a singer, played the lead in "Akeelah and the Bee" and two locally-shot films "Joyful Noise" and "Madea's Family Reunion." She  starred in Nickelodeon sitcom "True Jackson, VP."

- Rap star Lil Mama, 23, will be Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, who died in a car accident in Honduras in 2002. She's had two top 10 hits and was a judge on MTV's "Amercia's Best Dance Crew."

- Actress Drew Sidora, 27, will try to capture the essence of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, last seen on her own reality series on TLC. She played Chantel on Disney's "That's So Raven" and a fictionalized version of herself on "The Game," now on BET.

The film - dubbed "Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story" -  is set to begin production next month in metro Atlanta. It's set to air later this year. Both Chilli and T-Boz are advisors and producers on the film.

The biopic will focus on the rise of the trio, their financial troubles and the tragic death of Lopes, which effectively ended the group.

TLC was the best-selling girl group of the 1990s with hits such as "No Scrubs," "Unpretty" and "Waterfalls."
