After last fall's soporific "Dancing With the Stars All Star" edition that contributed to sinking ratings, ABC hopes to give the show a boost with the usual mix of athletes, singers, reality show contestants and actors with Andy Dick as the most controversial choice.

Dick, 47, has been arrested numerous times over the years for alleged infractions such as drug possession, public intoxication and indecent exposure. Presumably, he is there for comedic value. He attended high school briefly in Cobb County in the 1980s. On the show, he'll be paired newcomer Sharna Burgess.

Without any real hot A listers here that might draw viewers simply out of curiosity, this crew doesn't appear to be all that exciting but some of the personalities could keep things loose. There are more athletes than normal (four out of 12) and two ABC-linked celebrities.

The show returns March 18.
