- Atlanta-based TBS cancels "Wedding Band," according to an exclusive story in The Hollywood Reporter.  It seemed like the Brian Austin Green vehicle was never given a real vote of confidence from TBS, especially when the network scheduled the show on Saturday night, known as Death Valley for most original scripted fare. It averaged 1.4 million viewers over 10 episodes, which isn't half bad considering it was Saturday. But it seems the wedding was over before it even began. TBS's three other existing original scripted comedies are "Sullivan & Son," "Men at Work" and "Cougar Town."

- Tyler Perry goes more diverse in casting his OWN shows, including John Schneider ("Dukes of Hazzard," "Smallville") in a new drama, according to Deadline.com. The story notes that:

The Haves And The Have Nots follows the dynamics of the affluent Cryer family and the impoverished family of Hanna, their housekeeper, and the obstacles and secrets that exist within both families. Innovative-repped Schneider will play Jim Cryer, the Cryer family patriarch.

His other show is a comedy "Love Thy Neighbor" set in a diner and featuring Patrice Lovely ("A Madea Christmas") as the owner.

Both are shot at his studios in southwest Atlanta.

- Marietta native and "Grace Under Fire" star Brett Butler does an extensive interview with The New York Times about her convoluted path back to Hollywood in a recurring role on Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management." Her career collapse while addicted to Vicodin on the set of 'Grace Under Fire" was legendary in a bad way. She exiled herself, gained weight and became mired in depression. From 2007 to 2012, she spent five years in North Georgia on a farm she purchased but ultimately lost to foreclosure. As for her modest role as a wise-cracking bartender on "Anger Management," the former sitcom star said this:

“I’m just trying to show up and be a good worker,” she said, asked if was difficult to be on a set of someone else’s sitcom, to know she’s no longer the star. “It does feel a little bit like being on probation, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’m grateful just for the shot.”
