Karen Graham took a leave of absence this week from "Good Day Atlanta" but should be back in about a month.

By Rodney Ho

Karen Graham, an anchor for "Good Day Atlanta," has taken a medical leave of absence that will leave her off the air for about a month.

She sent out this note to Instagram and her public Facebook page this past Sunday:

Hey guys...I'm going off the grid -- and off the air -- for a little while. Gotta take care of...me. But I'll be back -- hopefully stronger and better. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Peace and love :-)

On Facebook, she has 3,453 likes and 771 comments, mostly in the "Keeping you in our prayers" variety.

Graham, who joined WAGA-TV/Fox 5 in 2000, has been an anchor at "Good Day Atlanta" for several years now, usually helming the 9 a.m. hour.  The 9 a.m. show is usually a solid second behind WSB-TV's airing of "Live with Kelly and Michael" and ahead of the third hour of NBC affiliate WXIA-TV's "Today Show." Prior to that duty, she did sports reporting and anchoring for the station.
