The Governor wants everyone at the prison dead (or tortured at his choosing). Will he succeed?

"The Walking Dead" has been willing to kill off characters well liked (T-Dog, we still miss you!), not so well liked but crucial (Lori) and evil partially redeemed (Merle).

In a Rolling Stone teaser story, AMC producers promise 27 casualties in the coming war between the prison group and Woodbury. (Here's a sneak peek of the attack)

I presume most of those 27 will be faceless Woodbury denizens. But a few of them for sure will be big names.

Here are my odds for who is likeliest to die, in order, of all the folks with speaking roles:

Martinez: He has "Woodbury fodder" written all over him. While he has been given a modicum of "humanizing" lines with Daryl during the negotiation episode, he is otherwise a muscle-headed flunky for the Governor. Odds of dying: 99%

The Governor: There have been attempts to humanize him, but he has become increasingly vengeful and crazy. There is little doubt he will die, probably at the hands of someone such as Daryl, Rick or Michonne. If they don't kill him, what the heck are they going to do with him?  Odds of dying: 90%

Allen: Tyrese's survivor friend, he wants to be part of the Governor's crew and finds Tyrese's humanity annoying. He's also jealous that Tyrese - not he - saved his wife at one time in the past. He is big-time dispensable at this point, since the writers have done nothing to make you want him arouund. Odds of dying: 90%

Andrea: She is one of the few original season one characters left and was given plenty of airtime as the woman with split loyalties season threeBu. t she had plenty of opportunities to kill the Governor and failed. Plus, many fans of the show find her acting and her choices plain annoying. Odds of dying: 85%

Milton: He is well meaning and desperately hoping the Governor hasn't turned into the monster he's become. He feels loyal to Woodbury for now and will probably pay the price in his death. Question: will he pick up a gun and join the forces? It's possible they will keep him around and have him join Rick's group. Odds of dying: 75%

Hershel: I love Hershel. He is the voice of reason this season. He has two beautiful daughters, a loving future son in law and became the trusted ear for Rick. But he's missing a leg. How will he survive a battle with the Governor? I would prefer the writers find a way to keep him around, but I wouldn't be surprised he became zombie fodder. Odds of dying: 67%

Beth: Of all the remaining prison survivors (save the baby), Beth has been given the least to do or say, though she croons on occasion. So that in and of itself makes her almost as likely to die as Hershel. In fact, if Hershel dies, I'm certain Beth will too. Odds of dying: 66%

The baby: The baby is a hindrance and hope at the same time for the prison crew. But how easy it is to live with a baby in the post-apocalyptic world? The writers might decide it's time to rid "Walking Dead" of the idea that you can really grow up in this lousy environment. Odds of dying: 65%

Sasha: Tyrese's trusty sister, she is likable and sharp. I could see her becoming a more nuanced, more tangible season four character. But then again, her death could drive Tyrese into interesting directions. Odds of dying: 50%

Carol: As Merle noted last week, she has gone from scared of her own shadow wimp to tough, seasoned zombie apocalypse survivor who has seen her husband and daughter die. She barely survived an attack earlier this season. She could eventually hook up with Daryl at some point if the writers deem her worth living. I figure her survival is a toss up at best. Odds of dying: 50%

Tyrese: Deep down, he knows the Governor is evil, but he figure Rick didn't want him, so he'd rather stick with the group. We'll have to see whether he chooses to kill prison folks or switch sides. He may die in the process but you have to wonder, given his prominent role in the comic books, whether the writers have bigger plans for him for season 4.  Odds of dying: 35%

Maggie: She's a likable character and part of the only loving couple left among the prisoners. The problem: she and Glenn plan to get married in anticipation of the war. That makes you wonder if she or Glenn (or both) will kick the bucket. I feel Maggie is slightly more likely to die than Glenn, just to give Glenn more to kvetch about season four. Odds of dying: 33%

Glenn: He was a relatively lighthearted character the first season but has gradually become tougher and more a leader (albeit not a terribly effective one). He has been humanized deeply by his love for Maggie. "Walking Dead" fans mostly like him too much for him to necessarily die now. I don't think he will. Odds of dying: 27%

Michonne: She's a very popular character and has incredible survival instincts. I doubt "The Walking Dead" writers would kill her off now - unless she does something heroic that saves Rick, Carl and/or Daryl. And I'd consider that a bad move. Odds of dying: 20%

Carl Grimes: His mom died earlier this season. I don't see the writers torturing Rick with Carl's death, too, though they might off the baby. Odds of dying: 5%

Rick Grimes: While some folks find his performance a bit one note, he's the heart and soul of the prison group. He will survive the battle Sunday for sure. Odds of dying: 1%

Daryl Dixon: He's the most beloved character on the show. No chance he's going anywhere, especially with his bro just dying. Odds of dying: 0%
