Steve Goss is eligible to be inducted into this year's Georgia Radio Hall of Fame. His credentials: 27 years at Peach 94.9/Lite 94.9 and six years at WABE-FM, where he hosts the local broadcast of "Morning Edition." Voting begins July 1 for members of the group.
The Georgia Radio Hall of Fame has released 14 candidates for the 2013 class of career achievement awards.
A few are very familiar to locals, including current 97.1/The River morning host Kaedy Kiely (also known for her times at Z93 and 96rock), "Morning Edition" host Steve Goss (who worked at Peach 94.9 for more than 25 years), recently retired B98.5 afternoon host Kelly McCoy and former V-103 morning host and current Macon radio station owner Mike Roberts.
"Kelly and I are good friends," Goss said, despite the long-time rivalry between B98.5 and Peach.
Members of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame will vote and the top 8 will be inducted. Winners will be announced October 19 at the Marietta Hilton. If you'd like to vote, you can pay a modest one-time fee to become a member here. Voting begins July 1.
John Long, who runs the group, has made a concerted effort to make the membership more diverse and a sign of progress is Roberts' nomination.
