Kenya Moore reportedly sold L.A. pad, denies Apollo's allegations

Kenya Moore upside down

Kenya Moore has turned "Real Housewives of Atlanta" upside down since she arrived last year.

By Rodney Ho

Paraphrasing a saying allegedly coined by Reggie Jackson 36 years ago while he was with the New York Yankees, Kenya Moore is the straw that stirs the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cocktail of pseudo-drama and real drama.

We as viewers have no idea how valid this whole "sexting" controversy is between her and Apollo Nida, Phaedra Parks' insanely good-looking husband. Both acknowledge that texting went on but that's where the stories differ. Kenya insisted it was innocuous, even if the other housewives think texting another woman's husband just for kicks is uncouth.

Then Apollo went further this past Sunday and said Kenya and he ended up at the same hotel in Los Angeles (coincidentally?) and she propositioned him. He turned her down and switched hotels, he said.

Kenya is the queen of being on the defensive, thinking the world is against her. She naturally denied that anything happened to TMZ.

Moore says Apollo's BS is great fodder for the show, but she's not down with lying ... and adds she wants "to put an end to these false and defaming speculations and judgments against me."

She said on her Bravo blog that she was never in Los Angeles and did not initiate the texts. She wonders if Apollo was using Kenya as a cover for some other woman he was seeing in Los Angeles.

She even gets defensive on behalf of her Twitter fans:

I also noted that the RHOA producers gave the impression Moore was temporarily living in a dump when in fact she was at the Georgian Terrace Hotel, hardly a dump (though not exactly the Four Seasons either.). NeNe Leakes may have made fun of the hotel room and its white appliances but she was not mocking the Midtown neighborhood it was in.

LaLate also said she recently sold her house in Los Angeles for about $700,000. Unless she had a massive mortgage, she should have some extra cash on hand to buy a place in Atlanta, where she has clearly decided to make home while RHOA is around.

While I've always sensed a lack of sincerity from Kenya, she herself touts her "realness" in her blog:

Love or hate me, like or dislike me, laugh at me or cry with me, I have always shown you who I really am. I make no apologies for my quirky sense of humor, my personal challenges, my embarrassing moments, my messiness, and deep personal issues I’ve shared with the world. I have kept it 100% real… Real crazy at times, but always real.

Dragon Con Photo: Iron Man costume

Dragon Con will stay true to its roots in 2014

To the casual observer, it’s a lovable freak show. But for those who live by its creed — and spend the year preparing for Labor Day weekend, when painstakingly designed costumes can be displayed and new friendships formed among the faithful — it’s a religion.
