"The Walking Dead" season 4 opener debuts Oct. 13, 2013.

UPDATED on Sept. 12 with more details of who it is:

A "Walking Dead" extra Zane Orr was hit by a fake military vehicle with bad brakes Friday and airlifted by helicopter to a hospital, a source told me Monday. Production shut down early.

Orr posted a photo of actress Lauren Cohan (Maggie) from the show visiting him in the hospital on his Twitter feed. He was released from the hospital Monday, 11 Alive confirmed.

A spokeswoman for the show shot in Senoia and regions nearby confirmed someone was indeed injured but said the person is okay and will recover. She declined to say who it was, what that person did for the show, or what the nature of the injury was that necessitated an airlift. She did say it was not regular cast member who had gotten hurt.

She didn't think the injury or temporary production break would impact the show to any degree.

The most popular cable drama on TV returns October 13 on AMC for season four.

11 Alive's Jaye Watson recently lost a member of her family: a dog named Arlene. She wrote a touching tribute on her blog that has become sort of viral. It's worth reading if you don't mind a good cry. Check it out here.

It ends like this:

I’m the person who pathologically worries what is ahead. I try (I stress try) not to fixate on what’s behind. In the one tragically short yet precious year we had her, Arlene taught me  in hilarious and poignant ways how to live in the present. If I could have drawn cartoon bubbles above her head, they would have said, “This is the best pee ever!” “This is the best game of tennis ball ever!” “These are the best meatballs left on the counter ever!”

I like to imagine there was also a bubble that said, “This is the best family, ever!” Because  for us, she was the best dog. Ever.

Don Lemon, CNN anchor and correspondent who just moved to New York from Atlanta, will be doing commentaries twice a week on the Tom Joyner syndicated morning show, heard locally on Kiss 104.1.  He will offer his insight into news, politics, entertainment and more at 7: 16 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Critics didn't exactly embrace the new rebooted version of CNN's "Crossfire." TVNewser summarizes here.

Dunwoody's own Ryan Seacrest Monday hosted the first night of "Million Second Quiz," NBC's "event" game show over the next 12 days. Ratings were okay but hardly blockbuster: 6.5 million and 1.7 rating 18-49.

I love game shows. I like this one. It's fun. We'll see how ratings play out over the next week and a half.
