"Breaking Bad" was not a particularly popular show its first season but with Netflix and on-demand binge-watching, the show has seen its viewership skyrocket, more than doubling its numbers from two years ago.
Last week, it pulled in a series record 6.6 million viewers and the finale Sunday is likely to exceed 8 million.
I anticipate, like the series finales of "Lost" and "The Sopranos," this one will be polarizing. But that's inevitable. People view shows through different lens and want certain outcomes. If the outcome isn't to their liking, well, so be it. Walt White may die in the hands of Jesse or vice versa. The show could suddenly go black while an AC/DC song is playing or we find out it was all a fevered dream of Walt White's while he is in the hospital dying of cancer. Probably not.
We're going to live blog the finale Sunday evening on Scribble so please join me and provide your thoughts as the final minutes tick by. I'll Tweet, post polls and go back and forth with fans in real time. You can join me here.
In honor or Walter, Jesse and Alburquerque, I've compiled some of the most interesting "Breaking Bad' stories from the past week.
- The show prides itself on its realism. But that doesn't mean creator Vince Gilligan and his staff don't make mistakes. Slate.com here provides ten errors, including the fact pure meth is unlikely to be blue, hydrochloric acid would not eat through a bathtub and Gus' accent was apparently horrible. Read the story here.
