The stars and skates were out at Cascade Skating!

The global sneaker retailer SNIPES put on an all-star event at Cascade Skating this past weekend, all in celebration of the rebranding of all Jimmy Jazz locations to SNIPES. Last year, SNIPES closed a deal to purchase the sneaker chain Jimmy Jazz, which has more than 170 stores in the U.S. This is a pretty big deal because the event introduced the SNIPES brand to Atlanta for the very first time. Attendees not only got to find out about the rebrand at the event, but there were also performances by T-Pain, plus Georgia’s own Kali and Money Man – so you know it was a good time!

The event had a ton of on-site activities as well - I’m talking a full-on SNIPES Atlanta takeover at the iconic Cascade Skating rink. We had the chance to have pictures taken by Cam Kirk, who is one of hip-hop’s most legendary photographers, but that’s not all. Guests also had the opportunity to get custom grillz and tooth charms from Grillz by Scotty. If you don’t know about Scotty, he’s created custom grillz for everyone - from Big Boi to Issa Rae to T.I.

And of course, when you’re at Cascade, you have to skate, right? I’ll admit, initially, I was completely against it because I’ve probably only roller skated twice in my life (and who wants to be embarrassed at the world-famous Cascade?), but I mustered up the courage to grab some rental skates and go for it. I’m so glad I did! Although I was a complete amateur, it was such a good time.

The SNIPES Atlanta takeover aimed to celebrate the diverse culture of Atlanta but also gave us all an opportunity to learn more about SNIPES. Not only was this experience a good time, but also shows how the brand really wants to connect with the community. SNIPES, like many other brands, know that Atlanta has had an undeniable impact on mainstream culture – from the booming music and film industry to being home to some of the biggest hip-hop artists.
