Ross, who serves as an executive producer and host of the docuseries, knows all too well the importance and impact Black hair can have — with some women going even as far as naming their hair or hairstyles. The actress and entrepreneur has even come out with a haircare line of her own, “Pattern.” “I think the biggest thing for me is that since Pattern hit the shelves, I finally have products that allow my hair to do anything that honors and takes care of my hair. I can use heat again in a way that feels empowering and full of possibility. Or, I can braid my hair one day, slick it the next day, and go back to a wash-and-go with no problem. That was not always the case. So, I feel like my hair is an expression is a genuine expression of who I am. Sometimes it’s huge. Sometimes it’s tight and neat. Sometimes it’s unruly and crazy. And, sometimes, it looks like a heart!” Ross said.
“The Hair Tales” has already debuted its first two episodes on Hulu and OWN, with two episodes releasing weekly on Hulu and one episode releasing weekly on OWN. Check out the official trailer below!
