The moment we’ve all been waiting for – two legends in the music game are facing off.

It’s been almost a year since the idea first started floating around but it looks like the stars have finally aligned, literally. Diddy and Jermaine Dupri aka JD have officially agreed to go head-to-head in a Verzuz-type battle. JD and Diddy hopped on Instagram live and Diddy initiated the conversation, “JD, if you want that smoke, you can get that smoke anytime.”

A representative for Triller said the situation was a “legal shakedown,” and that it’s “not a feud over Verzuz. It is simply about earn-out payments to Swizz and Tim.” The rep added Swizz and Timbaland had “been paid over $50 million in cash and stock to date, and they stand to benefit even more over time… On top of the $50 million they were paid, they have annual obligations, which if met, and no breach has occurred, entitles them to additional payments. Only one payment of $10 million was in question.”

Regardless of how messy the Verzuz and Triller situation may be behind the scenes, this JD/Diddy match-up is going to go down as one of the biggest moments in hip-hop history!
