The weekend is here again, and if you’ve just about had it with the summer heat, you are in luck. This week, all of our five must-do events are happening in the great indoors. From a gaming convention to jazz night, check out these five events to beat the heat:

Enjoy games galore at the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo

This weekend, the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo will bring together thousands of gaming fans across two locations for a celebration of all things gaming-related. Attendees can expect tons of great programming and special appearances by various guests including, Tim Kitzrow (the iconic voice of NBA Jam) and ZapCristal (better known as Zap on YouTube).

Get down with jazz Friday night at The High

This Friday, head to the High Museum for a night of live jazz featuring Sabor! Brass Band and KT Collaborative. Enjoy light food fare and drinks while exploring the museum or taking part in a docent tour and learning more about the works on view.

On Saturday at Ambient+Studio, artist Amber Nicole will present her first solo exhibition, “My Hair Speaks Volumes.” Amber Nicole creates 3D artwork as an artistic representation of the beauty in Black women’s natural hair using records, flowers and crystals.
