Home on the river: your guide to Peachtree Hills

Family-owned Richard’s Variety Store has been a Peachtree Hills staple for decades. (Abbey Cutrer / AJC)

Nestled between Peachtree and Piedmont Roads on its sides and bordered by the winding Peachtree Creek, Peachtree Hills is one of Buckhead’s coziest neighborhoods. Over a century old, Peachtree Hills was founded as a streetcar suburb emerging from farmlands back in 1912.

Peachtree Hills is largely residential except for a few commercial districts on its ends and some notable park space. There’s a nice mix of architectural styles throughout the neighborhood, but the glitzy towers of Peachtree Road can’t touch this front porch community. What will touch it in the near future, however, is the BeltLine’s northern arc, offering a connection to other local greenspaces.
