“Duke Ellington is an American musical visionary whose work was a powerful influence on America music and culture,” Ludwig said in a press release. “His story was also one of defying stereotypes and overcoming societal barriers to realize his dreams. By telling his story through the eyes of his pet Cat, Ellington’s life becomes a fun, musical, educational adventure for our audiences. We hope it’s an inspirational celebration of Ellington’s life and legacy.”

This show is a visual feast featuring rod puppetry, shadow play, black light magic, and stop-motion animation that will mesmerize you from start to finish. Follow Cat on his wild ride with Duke, from smoky pool halls to sold-out concerts. But when trouble strikes before Duke’s performance for the Queen of England, Cat sets out on a mission to save the day and retrieve the missing musical score. Join Cat on this adrenaline adventure and discover what it takes to be a real jazz hero!
