If you’re looking for a way to make your weeknights more eventful, Laughing Skull Comedy Open Mic is where it’s at!

When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone or did something brave? How about the last time you had a really good laugh at yourself? I’m talking about the tears-rolling-down-your-face kind of laugh? Laughter is said to be the best medicine, so consider open mics to fill your prescription.

Atlanta is a large city with so much to offer. But have you taken advantage of the comedy scene? Imagine trying your hand at stand up for the first time, and then a nationally known comedian comes up behind you? It can happen – and I call that fun!

But what exactly can you expect at an open mic night? “Our open mic is for both amateur talent, and for visiting national comedians working on their material. You will see people doing jokes for the first time, expanding on current jokes, and sometimes just plain eating it… which is pretty awesome!” according to Laughing Skull Lounge’s website. Whether you’re happy to make a fool of yourself, want to restore your confidence or simply want to take a stab at something new – you have to pay Laughing Skull Lounge a visit. Comedy shows also make for a fun date or great night out with friends.

If it’s your first time considering open mic – you’ll want to keep these 4 tips in mind: “Finish within your time limit, be respectful, be quiet and always thank the host,” according to MasterClass website.

So gather up your best one-liners and head over to Laughing Skull Comedy Open Mic happening every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. Each show is pre-booked about 2-3 weeks out so you’ll want to plan ahead.

If you’re ready to muster up the courage to get on stage, email openmic@laughingskulllounge.com. Include your stand-up experience level, if you plan to bring supporters along for the show and any questions you may have.

Alright – now get ready to say, “Pass the mic!”
