Independence Day is near, and Atlantans have plenty of reasons - and ways - to celebrate. One of the classics is fireworks, and communities in and around the city are set to deliver in a big way. Here are some of the more prominent opportunities for spectacular displays you won’t soon forget.

Stone Mountain Fantastic Fourth Celebration

By day: enjoy all the attractions Stone Mountain has to offer, from a hike up the mountain to live entertainment. By night: take in a world-class fireworks show lauded in local and national publications as one of the best.

Tucker Celebration of Independence

Get your July 4 festivities started a day early! Celebrate independence with spectacular fireworks, a kids’ zone and live music starting at 6 p.m. in Tucker.

Red, White and Boom! - Norcross

Bringing in July 4 with a boom one day early, Norcross hosts its annual celebration in Lillian Webb Park. Live music, food and face painting will mark the day, and fireworks will light up the sky at night.

Salute to America

Live music including The Troubadour Project and the Atlanta Rhythm Section on two stages, street entertainment and food vendors, and activities for the whole family: It will all be waiting for you in Kennesaw July 3. Finish off the evening with brilliant fireworks at dusk.

Johns Creek Independence Day Celebration

Music, food, fun activities and - of course - fireworks: Johns Creek has it all this July 4. Bring the whole family out to Newtown Park and celebrate!

Fireworks at Six Flags Over Georgia

Stay after a day of playing to see fireworks over one of Georgia’s most prominent theme parks! A VIP Fireworks Party will give you access to games, giveaways, food and water park access after hours.

City of Marietta’s 4th in the Park Celebration

The day starts with the Let Freedom Ring Parade, continues with an arts and crafts festival, proceeds through a concert and bell ringing ceremony and ends with a fireworks show after dark in Glover Park. Featured band this year is Savannah Jack.

Underground Atlanta Fireworks

Spend the afternoon at the Underground Atlanta Fourth of July Block Party with games, dancing, DJs, food trucks and more. There will be free BBQ for the first two hours at this 21-and-up event and free entry until 4 p.m. Fabulous fireworks start at nightfall.

Fourth of July Celebration at Cauble Park

The Acworth Business Association presents this fireworks extravaganza. Catch live music beginning at 5:30 p.m., and stay for an elaborate after-dark show!

Fireworks on the Bricks

It’s another way to experience Marietta’s fabulous fireworks! The Marietta History Center will sell a limited number of tables for spectacular views in front of Kennesaw House.

Sparkle in the Park

Catch music from Son Latina and The GlowBand, and enjoy kids activities and great food from vendors while you await the start of a spectacular fireworks display just after dark!

Roswell Fourth of July Celebration

Start your evening off with live music and a variety of food trucks. Spread out a blanket and sit back to watch the fireworks start. You’ll find several prime viewing areas around the park - enjoy!

Chamblee Summer Concert Series

Fourth of July Fireworks and Festivities at the Town Green - Avondale Estates

Bring a blanket and chair, and prepare to kick back and enjoy a festive fireworks show from Avondale Estates’ Town Green. Before dark, there will be activities for the whole family: face painting, music, food, games and more. Prepare for great eats from Scout Troop 6, Kona Ice, Taylor’d BBQ and more!

July Fourth Fireworks at Wills Park

Bring a picnic and blanket and family and friends out to Wills Park to celebrate our nation’s independence. Although charcoal grills and consumer fireworks are not allowed, you may bring a small propane grill with a permit from the city of Alpharetta.
