Make the most of the short work week by packing it with fun events around the city. 

Honor fallen soldiers on Memorial Day this Monday before heading to one of these can’t-miss events throughout metro Atlanta.

Outdoor Movies

From “Friend Green Tomatoes” at Atlantic Station to “Moana” at Town Brookhaven, several outdoor movie series are offering family-friendly options for anyone looking for a cheap way to entertain the kids and adults alike. 

Georgia Renaissance Festival 

In addition to the countless Memorial Day activities that are going on around metro Atlanta, the Georgia Renaissance Festival will remain open through this holiday weekend, extending into Monday. Head to Fairburn for some medieval-style festival fun before the Festival closes for the season on June 4.

10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Memorial Day. Through June 4. $19-$22, adults 13 and older; $8-$10, children 6-12; children 5 and younger free. 6905 Virlyn B. Smith Road, Fairburn.  

WWE SmackDown Live

You could watch WWE SmackDown Live on television this week or you could head to Philips Arena to see it in person. Professional wrestlers such as Shinsuke Nakamura and Charlotte Flair will make an appearance, in addition to the WWE Championship Match and United States Championship Match.

Wine and Coloring Night

Leave the kids at home for a grownup night of coloring. 

MOCA GA is hosting its fourth “Wine and Coloring Night,” offering adults an opportunity to mingle with local artists, sip on white wine and unwind. 

White wine, crayons and pencils will be provided, but you can also bring your own. Red beverages are not allowed. Bring a blanket to sit on.

Hip-Hop Trivia ATL

Test your knowledge of hip-hop on Wednesdays at Slice on Piedmont. The weekly trivia tests rap enthusiasts’ knowledge over five rounds, alcohol and pizza.
