Spring cooking classes in Cobb County

This spring, step outside of your cooking comfort zone by taking cooking classes that will teach you the skills you need to make delicious recipes and have confidence in the kitchen. Cobb County offers classes for every age and ability level so everyone can get cooking!


Going Retro in the Kitchen. 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. March 15. $69 per person. The Cook's Warehouse, 1311 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 568, Marietta.

You know that saying “This is not you father’s fill-in-the-blank”? Well, these might actually be your father’s or mother’s or grandmother’s recipes. It’s back to the sixties for some dishes that may not have seen the light of day in a while: Chicken liver pate, beef wellington, scalloped tomatoes? There’s more and you’ll probably want a whiskey sour or rum collins to wash it down.

Rise and Shine: Easy and Delicious Breakfast Bread.

Wake up and smell the bread! Yes, cooking is always a sensory experience, but there’s something about freshly baked bread, the aroma, the warm crust, that is just better. I this hands on class you’ll make buttermilk biscuits, scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls and coffee cake. Wake up and smell the coffee cake!

Easy Treats: Bridal Shower and Wedding Cookies. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 18. $20 per person. Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Dr., Kennesaw.

Weddings, that wonderful time when all thoughts of saving money have been banished by the wedding industrial complex. Fight back! Learn how to decorate beautiful cookies that will be a complement to any blushing bride.


Easy Treats: Mother’s Day Cupcakes. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 2. $25 per person. Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Dr., Kennesaw. Show mom that you really do care by gifting her with cupcakes you decorated yourself. You can do it, instructor Amy Vega can help.

'Que University's All-Day BBQ Cooking Class. 7:30 a.m. to around 7 p.m. May 20. $249 per person. Knights of Columbus Hall, 1473 Joyner Ave. SE, Marietta.
