Atlanta's favorite MARTA stop is a food and fun destination.

Many Atlantans have learned that you don't need a car to get around to some of the city's best destinations. Some stops have even become famous for what they have to offer within a close proximity of departing the train.

This is definitely true for Decatur Station, the Best of Atlanta MARTA stop winner. The MARTA drops you off in quite literally one of the best food destinations Atlanta has to offer. Within a few blocks you can dine at no. 246, drink all the brews at Brick Store Pub and savor a delicious dessert at Butter & Cream. Feel free to interchange each of these stops with a multitude of other options with just a little research. Atlanta loves to dine, so it's no wonder that the Decatur MARTA stop reigned supreme.

A close second was the Buckhead MARTA Station, which deposits you in walking or Uber distance of Atlanta's best shopping district. Nearby you'll find Lenox Square Mall as well as the Atlanta Tech Village. You also won't want to miss out on these Buckhead dining deals and steals while you're in town. 

What do our other nominees have to offer? A lot, depending on your final destination. 

The Airport Station seems pretty self explanatory. Did you know that the Atlanta International Airport is the busiest airport in the world? That's a lot of traffic passing through each year. Lots of folks live and/or work in Dunwoody, so it's no surprise that this is one of the most frequented stops on the railway. Shop at Perimeter Mall or check out one of these seven places that put Dunwoody on the culinary map.

If a lovely day is what you're looking for, then look no further than the Inman Park Station. You will placed in walking distance of Krog Street Market, the Beltline Eastside Trail and a plethora of restaurants. Deciding where to go first will be the only challenge you face.

A lot of Atlanta's biggest events lead to the Georgia Dome/CNN/Philips Arena/GWCC Station. Here you'll find all the aforementioned hot spots, plus the likes of Centennial Olymic Park. If you are an Atlanta resident, chances are you've appreciated not having to park in this part of the city.
