Looking for some rest and relaxation close to home? Luckily, you don’t have to stray far, because Atlanta has been named one of the best cities for a staycation by Wallethub.
The finance website came up with its results by analyzing 150 of the largest U.S. cities using 36 metrics including most swimming pools, spas, museums and attractions per capita. Those sections were filtered into three major categories: recreation; food and entertainment; and rest and relaxation.
Atlanta came in at No. 7, while Orlando took first place and Chicago second.
The Peach City made the top 20 for each category, placing 12th for recreation, 9th for food and entertainment and 15th for rest and relaxation. It also earned points for most ice cream and frozen yogurt shops per capita at No. 5.
ATL was the highest-ranked Georgia city on the list. Columbus and Augusta fell to the bottom of the pack at No. 78 and No. 80, respectively. Columbus was also No. 146 for fewest coffee and tea shops per capita.
