Regular patrons at North River Tavern in Sandy Springs may have noticed that the bar was shut down this week.
The good news is, it re-opens on Saturday, July 29 at noon. But why was it closed?
According to a message on the tavern’s website, New Line Cinema was filming the movie “Tag” there, a comedy set to debut in 2018.
A quick search of the movie on IMDB.com shows that the cast includes Jeremy Renner, Leslie Bibb, Rashida Jones, Jon Hamm, Hannibal Burress, Ed Helms and several others. A summary of the movie on IMDB says it’s about a small group of friends who “organize an elaborate, annual game of tag” that includes cross-country traveling.

The movie includes some action, apparently, as Renner told the Hollywood Reporter that he broke bones in both of his arms during a stunt while filming “Tag.”
"It won't stop things that I need to do. I heal fast and am doing everything I can to heal faster," he said. "… It won't really affect my job. It affects how I get dressed in the morning — I cannot tie my shoes."

Renner is also starring in “Avengers: Infinity War” which is being shot in Atlanta. Hamm recently starred in the film “Baby Driver” which was filmed in and based in Atlanta. On June 18, Burress opened for fellow comedian Dave Chappelle at The Tabernacle.
“Tag” is scheduled to hit theaters June 29, 2018.
