Pumpkin spice pizza appears nowhere in the expansive text.
Yet, nearly 125 years later, a national pizza chain will sell slices of the stuff.

A press release with the subtle title “IT’S LIKE FALL IN YOUR MOUTH” explains the ingredients: regular pizza crust, a sauce layer of pumpkin puree (featuring nutmeg, clove and cinnamon), then 100 percent whole milk mozzarella cheese topped with dollops of more puree.
A slice of that will cost about $4.
“There’s no denying that everyone loves pizza, so combining our hit Neapolitan Cheese Slice with the delicious fall flavors of pumpkin spice just made sense,” said spokeswoman Mimi Wunderlich.
The company said this is a one-off and will be available while supplies last.
