Solar eclipse 2017: Lyft discounts rides 21 percent to prime viewing spots Monday

Solar eclipse 2017 checklist: Special viewing glasses in-hand for Monday’s big event, check. Prime viewing spot all picked out, check. Way to get there without losing your mind fighting the hordes of traffic and hunting for a parking spot . . . Aargh!

Enter Lyft, which is offering 21 percent off on rides to a dozen metro Atlanta locations on Monday, August 21.

Ten of the destinations are top eclipse viewing locations here, ranging from the Georgia Tech Observatory in midtown Atlanta to the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville (see complete list below).

The other two? Proving that someone at ride-sharing service Lyft has a sense of humor (or just knows how much we Atlantans enjoy going out): The Eclipse de Luna restaurants in Buckhead and Dunwoody.

To get the discount, use the code EclipseATL. It’s valid for up to $5 off on rides only between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday. Pickup or dropoff must be at one of these locations:

Fernbank Museum, Fernbank Science Center, Georgia Tech Observatory, Children's Museum of Atlanta, Chattahoochee Nature Center, Dunwoody Nature Center, Georgia State University, Ponce City Market's Skyline Park, Tellus Science Museum, Woodruff Park, Eclipse de Luna, Buckhead and Eclipse de Luna, Dunwoody.
