...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHWESTERN HALL...NORTH FULTON...NORTHWESTERN CLAYTON...DEKALB...SOUTHWESTERN FORSYTH... GWINNETT AND SOUTH FULTON COUNTIES UNTIL 445 PM EDT...
At 353 PM EDT...a line of strong thunderstorms extended from Johns Creek to North Druid Hills to Cascade Heights to Campbellton, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, occasional cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy rain.
IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain will cause temporary street flooding, especially in poor drainage areas.
Some locations in the path of these storms include Atlanta, Lawrenceville, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, East Point, Duluth, Union City, Sugar Hill, Forest Park, Snellville, Suwanee, Riverdale, College Park, Fairburn, Buford and Lilburn.
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to hydroplaning.
