HGTV orders more episodes of Atlanta based tv show ‘Married to Real Estate’

Another day, another Atlanta show on the map!

If you were a fan of the first season of “Married to Real Estate,” you’ll be excited to know the hit series just got picked up for 12 new one-hour episodes. The show follows real estate broker and designer, Egypt Sherrod and her husband, Mike Jackson, who is a builder – they use their expertise to help families buy and renovate their dream homes in the Metro Atlanta area.

There is clearly a love for the show, as 12 episodes is a pretty big order. Not to mention, the first season of “Married to Real Estate” brought in more than 19 million total viewers. “This large pick-up order is in line with an extremely positive response from fans who had an immediate connection with Egypt and Mike in season one of ‘Married to Real Estate,’” said Betsy Ayala, senior vice president of programming & development for HGTV. “They put their own family first and work twice as hard to make their clients’ dream homes a reality — and they laugh and have fun together through all of it. Their outlook on life is an inspiration and everyone is excited to see what’s next for them in season two.”

The series, which went by two former names “Property Virgins” and “Flipping Virgins” introduced Egypt and Mike as they seamlessly juggled a very busy property businesses, held down their responsibilities at home and raised three daughters. Egypt used her knowledge of the housing market and design expertise to find her clients affordable houses in sought out neighborhoods. That’s where her husband Mike and his team come in, keeping the budget in mind and turning old properties into stunning homes while also increasing the value of the home.
